It is fun!!!

The Fransen/DelPasqua neighbourhood in Toronto. The first little house you see to the left of the apartment buildings is the house right in front of theirs. This was the day I returned from Italy--pretty blustery--but Nadia sang us some sunshine. If you look very closely you can also see the beginnings of Bump.
Gelato in Piazza Navonna with my sisters. It doesn't get any better than this.

Tree People

We had THE most amazing time EVER in Costa Rica.  I am actually twitching at the fact that so many of you are still there, having fun without us.  How dare you????  Just kidding.

Thank you SO much Kore and Jeff, and all of you wonderful cousins, cousins-in-law, and adopted cousins for being among the funnest people to hang out with anywhere in the world!

Baby Turtles!!!!!

Kate tried to post this the other day, but we were distracted by whatever the next amazing Costa Rican adventure was, so we never finished.  Here it is ...

Baby Turtles from Jaye McLaughlin on Vimeo.

Yesterday morning we went to the beautiful beach right down the road "Buena Vista."  We were lucky enough to see the baby turtles being released into the ocean.  These were the turtles that did not crawl out of the nests into the ocean by themselves, so people took them out of the nests and set them into the ocean to help them. They were so cute!  Sadly, some of them that had made it all the way down were washed up by waves and were back to where they started.  Towards the end, when the only turtles that were left on the sand were the slow and weak, we had to pick them up and put the into the waves.

Christmas 2010

Christmas 2010, originally uploaded by jayemcl.

I'm catching up on photos, and I've been waiting to post this one and wish you all a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Ack.  Click on the photo to see it full-sized.  I am done futzing with this for tonight. ;-)

Costa Rican Adventure

Nadia and I are in Playa Guiones, Costa Rica.

Kie and Francy (as well as my folks) left yesterday. It's beautiful, but I'm still a wee bit nervous being here by myself with Nadia. Could be that I don't speak Spanish. Could be parenting alone for six weeks. Could be the steady diet of beans.

But heh, we're jumping in and having a blast!

An Hour in the Life

This is what we did this afternoon between 3:30 and 4:30.  Part of me would rather keep the 'Christmas Picture" a surprise, but everyone knows I'm too impatient...

P.S.  Do any of my super smart cousins (or sibling) know how to upload a higher quality video on Blogger?  These look so nice on my computer, and even pretty nice on Facebook -- here, they look like poop!  (Kate dared me to say that, fyi).

Lazy

I finally sat down to sort and upload pictures. I knew I had been letting it go for a while but I didn't know it was six months! So everything starting in May is new to my Flickr page.

Its so cool to see how wonderfully her own kids are growing up, and what a great Mom she is...But I still remember Jaye as a kid herself...like this, sweet and loving and tres cool!! Thanks Jaye, for everything you are. I LOVE YOU!!!
